How To Get the Most Cash Back

What Is Cash Back?

‘Cash Back’ is the practice of using a small refund off the price as an incentive to get you to use their credit card or portal to make your purchase. Some cards will give you

  1. 1% when you make your purchase
  2. 1% when you pay
  3. 1% when you make the purchase and another 1% when you pay
  4. more than 1% cash back

Which Credit Card Gives The Most Cash Back

The issue of which card rewards you with the most cash back is a moving target, really. What is true this week will not be true next week. Some cards even change the rules of the game every year. Most will not change all their cards in an effort to maximize their profits so I am not going to address this particular issue.

Rather than that I am going to suggest a way to maximize whatever savings you are currently getting with your current card.  The question, “Where can I get the most cash back?” is answerable in my opinion. We will address it here.

Most Cash Back At Walmart

That’s easy. Get the best cash back card you can find (or qualify for) and then go through the best cash back portal site you can find.

WMCB1

That is where Dubli comes in. Yes, if you shop at Wal-Mart though Dubli you wil receive as much as 7% cashback. That is on top of whatever rewards your card is giving you.

Double Digit Cash Back

In January I bought my mom flowers for her birthday. The rewards amounted to 17.7% cash back. Double digit cash back rewards can make the difference in whether your retirement savings do the job.

cashback1

Double digit savings can:

  1. Pay your power bill.
  2. Cover the cost of your auto insurance.
  3. Be used to buy silver eagles and throw them in a drawer for the future.

Remember, all these savings we are talking about in are in addition to the savings your card provides you now. For instance, if I had a card that was paying me 1% when I purchased and 1% when I paid my bill, I would be receiving 19.7% cash back when I bought flowers for my mom.

1%+1%+17.7% = 19.7%

Dubli Cash Back

Dubli has over 6,000 stores. Compare this to eBates’ 1,700 stores. I have looked at a number of programs and Dubli is the top cash back program as far as I am concerned.

You’re likely missing one of these CRITICAL elements to making LIFE-CHANGING income online. Which one are you missing?

Journaling, The Why and The What

Journaling

As you march towards that mystical state of working 100% from home in a more than profitable state, you need to remember that it is important you record your journey. You cannot analyze that which you do not record.

Function of a Journal

For many people, myself included, journaling is comforting. Your journal is your confidant. Your journal is your perfectly discrete confidant, I might add. The only person who reads it is yourself and whoever to whom you entrust it.

As a soundboard, it listens with perfect understanding and acknowledgment with absolutely zero judgment. A journal is where you can write everything with absolutely no danger of confusing outbursts of recriminations because of deliberate or inadvertant misinterpretation of what you said (wrote.)

Your journal is also proof that whatever insanities with which you are now dealing, things which may seem to be end of the world bad, you will live through it. You will come out the other side.

Why do I say this? Because you’ve already done it.

How can I say this? Because if you are keeping a journal, you wrote it down.

There are, of course, lots of brighter, more sunshine and moonbeams with butterflies and faeries dancing types of reasons to keep a journal. It is just that giving you a very dramatic, potentially lifesaving reason for keeping a journal seemed to be the way to go.

The Why

Why you should keep a journal:

  1. It helps you to remember important things.
  2. It promotes creativity.
  3. You can accurately record things as you actually see them without filtering them for political correctness or social acceptability.

A journal helps you to remember the good times, especially during the bad. The mental and emotional benefits of regular writing are well documented. Your journal is both therapist and best buddy.

Regular or daily recordings promote your creativity. Authors of The Creativity Cure, Drs. Carrie and Alton Barron, advise us to skip Microsoft Word altogether; a pen is better.

Some years ago, I took a copywriting course from AWAI. Their strong advice was to do the exercises with pen or pencil and paper, not on the computer. Your writer’s ‘voice’ is apparently tied much more closely to the complex web of nerves, tendons and muscles you write with than to the 8 or so muscles you use to type.

As I recall from another course there are some thousands of muscles used in cursive writing and only 8+ used for typing. The mind/body connection is stronger when you write it yourself rather than typing it.

In your journal, you can truly let fly with exactly what you think. Truly. It is a freeing experience to write down exactly what you really think. Write stuff of this nature in your journal, not on your Facebook timeline. A lot of people are finding their comments on Facebook are coming back to haunt them.

Sure, I still believe in free speech. I am what you call a strict constructionist with regards to the Constitution. The three paragraphs or so that this line of thought just set off will make a good post.  You need to remember there are those out there who believe it their place in life to make you pay for public statements with which they do not agree.

Put it in your journal.

Whatever you believe is wrong with the world today, you need to write it down so your kids know. It is a 100% certainty they will not learn it in school or for what passes for the ‘press’ or ‘journalism’ today.

Truth is, your journal may be the only way the future knows what really happened in the world today. Think of all the journals that now sit in museums, in the Library of Congress, in the Vatican even. These were just people writing what they believed. Your voice whispering to the future has no agenda other than what you believe to be the truth.

The How

Digital or Online Journals

There are many options for keeping a digital journal. I say ‘digital’ because I want to differentiate digital from online.

ChrysanthDiary3-8

There are tons of software packages out there. Some are shareware, some freeware. Some are sold as regular software packages are sold. I recommend you start with one of the freeware options. Just above here is one I found on on softonic. I have never used it but it seemed like it comes with a reasonable feature set. You can read more about it here.

Just remember to back it up and print it all from time to time so you have a physical copy. Your data is not 100% safe until you do so.

Physical Journals

The how to keep a physical journal has as many answers are there are methods of binding paper together. It is a matter of personal choice. The number of choices are staggering.

  • Leather bound journals
  • Paper bound journals
  • Loose leaf kept in various binders
  • Archival quality paper journals bound in fabric covered strong board and leather.

There have been a number of leaders who used spiral notebooks to keep their journals havings someone else transcribe them. I know of one case where they simply used paper pads, filling them up one after the other. When a dozen or so were full the pages were torn from the pad and bound just as they were written down.

paperpads

Sources for bound paper journals:

  1. Wal-Mart and similar stores
  2. Bookstores
  3. Online shopping

Journals bought from Wal-Mart, one of which I currently use, are not a bad choice. They are reasonably priced and come in a large selection of bindings and colors.

My next journal will most likely be in a one of those neat WilsonJones Account books. Yes, I know it is strictly speaking not designed as a journal, but I like the weight of it.

RecordBookIt has not only weight, but the pages are of that heavy, acid free stock that will survive a nuclear war and the ache of ages accumulating on it. Go into the records of any county in this country and you will see similar books a century old, still legible and still capable of being handled by interested parties. To me, this feels like the most permanent solution.

Self-Confidence and the Six Fears

Self-Confidence

“You Can Do It if You Believe You Can!”

We have all heard this in one form or fashion over the years. Some decide they do believe it and go on to success. Others say they believe and they are going to get right on it

…just… as soon as… fill in the blank of whatever excuses we have all heard and made over the years.

Telling me or someone else you believe you can achieve does you exactly no good, other than it is probably good for you to hear the words coming out of your own mouth.

Self-Confidence and the Skeptic

If you have all this self-confidence you claim to have, why are you not stepping up?

To address a different segment of readers, if you know you have no self-confidence do you know why? Why is it you see folks you know are not as smart as you succeed?

I think I figured it out.

It occurs to me that folks with no self-confidence are their own worst skeptics. Somewhere along the line someone consistently doubted your ability to succeed. Even when you did, the huffy commentator opined, it was lucky you did not kill yourself or embarrass yourself and the family to no end.

What is it you are afraid of?

I don’t exclude myself from this question. I could not figure out what would paralyze me and wash from my brain all those so wonderful plans of action I would come up with while in the throes of being just as miserable at work as a hapless canine who just missed making it into the building door by inches during one of those hard lake effect snow storms I read about.

Seriously, I have made it home and been so tired but also frustrated because I could not keep my eyes open long enough to do anything and anyways, I could not remember all the pieces of the plan of action.

I did figure it out.

Six Basic Fears

The six basic fears are:

  1. The fear of Poverty
  2. The fear of Old Age
  3. The fear of Criticism
  4. The fear of the Loss of Love of Someone
  5. The fear of Ill Health
  6. The fear of Death

Why is it if you are so afraid of being in poverty you don’t just strike out and work until the sun comes up, drive to work, stagger back in the front door and work until the sun comes up again and do it until you are rich?

I have known two fellows who did that and they got it right in a year or less and started living the boo yee tuh ful life of Riley.

So, why not you? I haven’t a clue except to say that in my case I really did hate looking stupid to other people. Poverty was not the fear that was holding me back, it was the fear of criticism. Then something my sweet wife said got into my brain and worked its way down into the basement where those little @#$%ers Stephen King is always jawing about work away from the light of day.

She said, “What do you care what they say or think. They don’t pay our bills. It is just like arguing with a nut on the road. It resolves nothing and puts no money in your pocket.”

I paraphrased, but she was right.

Guard Your Mind; Only Accept Advice From Those Qualified To Give It1

“oh, that’ll never work,” says a friend. At which point you meekly surrender all your dreams and go back to whatever it is that feeds you but makes you miserable.

That sounds more like a drug habit than a job now as I look at what I just wrote. Anyhooo….

Look where you friend who just offered you his grand and oh, so sophisticated opinion on your dream lives!

Most likely he ain’t living your dream, either. Why would you take advice or correction from another loser? I don’t mean that to be harsh; I just mean why would you take advice on what you want to do from someone who is incapable of doing what you want to do?

Find Your Fear

Work you way through what it is you are really afraid of so that you can put it in context. Once you figure out that fulfilling your dreams of building a healthy business online will relieve you of most of what you are afraid of you just might catch on fire and start putting in the work.

What We Are Working on Now

1 Stay tuned for an in depth article on why guarding your mind is so important.

What Is Cashback?

What Is Cashback?

Being in business for yourself gives you more opportunities to enjoy life.
Being in business for yourself gives you more opportunities to enjoy life.

My gut tells me that when the credit card companies began to discover cash back was akin to pouring gasoline on a hot spark plug when it came to promoting sales volume, it caused probably one of the biggest balance transfers in economic history. Google gives the brief definition of:

denoting a form of incentive offered to buyers of certain products whereby they receive a cash refund after making their purchase.

…when searching for cash back. What most folks are looking for, however, is what are the best cashback credit cards, where are the best cash back sites? Now, in the normal cashback canon above, we are presented with the unspoken assumption that you have to pick one card and one cash back program. Combining different savings is a hit or miss kind of thing. Well, not anymore, it isn’t.

How To Maximize Your Credit Card Rewards

Well, I am reasonably certain that I have found the top cash back site. It allows you to not only get more cash back, but you can stack it on top of the cash back programs you are already using. Instead of getting 1% cash back, or 2% cashback you can enjoy 6% additional savings and sometimes more in addition to your current program.

Cash Back Comparison

So, you did an exhaustive comparison of all the programs out there and you came up with what you consider to be the very best, most put real money in your pocket card and are just thrilled with it. Great! Now add 6%, or more, to it. Howzat thrill you? It fires me up, that is for sure!

What You Earn Versus What You Keep

Now, most of my readers are either active in the business opportunity, online marketing and related spaces or are interested in them.  They all know the old adage of it not being about how much money you make but what you are able to keep so that you can put it to work for your future. I like the following quote even better:

It’s not how much money you make, but how much money you keep, how hard it works for you, and how many generations you keep it for. –Robert Kiyosaki

I like this quote because it not only addresses me and my immediate family, it addresses the future. This business for me is not just about me getting that Jaguar with the disappearing post beams and the that completely awesome ‘follow me’ window projection. It is also about ensuring that my kids, their kids and even their kids are educated with as much security as this old man can provide them. Friends of mine say it is not their problem to provide. Well, Solomon says a wise man leaves and inheritance for his children; that is good enough for me.

Folks, the cash back rewards chase is over.  You can now earn high digit cash back rewards on the stores at which you already shop. Click here to get signed up for free.

Happy New Year’s everyone!
